Our Christmas Party In December
December 5 ,International Volunteer Day
On December 5 th 2018 we are holding our annual special celebration, just like last year. The December meeting will take place at the usual place; the Knox United Church Meeting Hall, 2569 Midland Avenue beginning at 8:00 pm. It will feature a Christmas Party and a celebration of a successful year. This social event is a great time to mix and mingle, catch up with old friends and meet new ones.
As usual there will be silent auction tables. So bring a bit of cash and pick up something you don’t have. Remember all proceeds go the donor. Also you may book a table to sell a few things you’ve made or collected. Or you can demonstrate your craft at the table you have booked. No Charge for the table; but book early space is limited. All proceeds from the sales tables are yours to keep.
You will be able to buy raffle tickets for a few items, and maybe win a prize or two. Tickets are 50 cents each or $5.00 a yard. Expect the Auction Committee to offer some really good bargains.
Also available this year will be Ontario marble coasters with our logo printed on ,celebrating 55 years. This is a fund raising event for the club. Get your part of history. This is a great Christmas present or “Thank you” gift . $40 for a set of 4 or $10 each.
All those who attend will asked to bring your favourite Christmas snack. Please label your items as there may be someone with food allergies. Beverages will be provided by the club. You are also encouraged to donate a non-perishable item for the local food bank. We will also be collecting craft items in its original package for the Sick Kids Hospital. Giving is part of the Christmas spirit.
You Must Sign up for a sales table and/or a Demo Table because we don’t have room for very many tables. If you’re a member of the Gem and Mineral Club of Scarborough (Join tonight) and you wish to sell or demonstrate at our Christmas party, please register with David Bellamy by emailing, blootang23@rogers.com or Phone 647-967-4582 Please note it’s advisable to register early because of limited space. Each member will be given a half table at no cost.
We’ll need a little help to set up chairs, silent auction tables in the hall, sales and demonstration tables as well take as take down after the meeting.
For everybody who volunteered to help with set-up before the meeting starts; set-up time begins around 6:30. Thank you so much.
