Meeting is on Wednesday December 7th
On December 07th, 2022, we are holding our annual special celebration, just like we did just before the lockdown.
The December meeting will take place at the usual place, the Knox United Church Meeting Hall, 2569 Midland Avenue, beginning at 8:00 pm (though if you are setting up, you may want to come at 7:00PM).
This social event is a great time to mix and mingle, catch up with old friends and meet new ones.
As usual, there will be silent auction tables. So bring a bit of cash and pick up something you don’t have. Or you can put a few of your own items on the silent auction tables. Remember, all proceeds go the donor. Also, you may book a table to sell a few things you’ve made or collected. No Charge for the table, but book early. All proceeds from the sales tables are yours to keep. You Must Sign up for a sales table because we don’t have room for very many tables. If you’re a member of the Gem and Mineral Club of Scarborough and you wish to sell at our meeting, please register by emailing the club at the following email: gmcspres@scarbgemclub.ca Please note it is advisable to register early because of limited space.
You are also encouraged to donate a non-perishable item for the local food bank. The club is doing the Shoebox project (now called the Lovebox project) again this year. Please bring extra gift wrap, ribbon, tape, glue stick and decorative items plus a few items for the shoeboxes to be donated to Womens’ shelters this holiday season. A suggested list of items to include is in this month’s Strata Data.
We will need some help in setting up chairs, silent auction tables in the hall, sales tables, and Lovebox tables, as well as take-down after the meeting. Set-up time begins around 6:30 PM.
