Purpose: Have Fun!
- Raise money for the Club: Bid High & Bid Often.
- You can bid only if You have a bidder number, which can be obtained at the registration desk.
- When You make a bid at the live auction, hold up your bidder number card. That is the only way your bid will be acknowledged.
- Scratching your ear or twitching your nose, etc. will not be counted as a way of bidding.
- Bidding increments must be by at least $1.00; bid higher by FULL dollar amounts.
- Since we have a lot of items to auction off, we will be moving at a fast pace.
- Therefore, there will be no “Going Once” Going Twice” thing.
- When the end of the bidding for an item approaches, the auctioneer will say “Fair Warned”.
- Auctioneers or anyone else working the auction have the right to bid on items.
- There will be no ringers to jack up the bidding.
- Indicate your Silent Auction bids with your bidder number, NOT your name.
- The Silent Auction will be closed between Items #60 & 65 of the Live Auction.
- You can pay for your items early, but only up to item #70.
- From item #66 to 100, you will have to wait until the end of the live auction before you can pay for your items.
- Receipts will be issued once payment is received.
- Payment by cheque is accepted from club members or by non-members who have a club member to vouch for them; otherwise, pay by cash.
- We don’t do credit cards.
- Cheques are to be made out to the Gem and Mineral Club of Scarborough, written in full.
- Simply writing GMCS on the cheques will not be accepted by us or by the bank.
- Packing of items for transport to their new homes is the responsibility of the items’ new owner.
- Packing materials like bubble wrap, newspaper, tissue paper, etc. will be provided by the iGMCS.
